The candidates who never applied

Lookout is Vouch's sourcing agent. It searches beyond your own candidate base, screens what it finds against the role's scorecard, and delivers people into the review flow you already use.

On a hard search, the ad is only half the job. Sometimes the person you need is employed, busy, and not reading job boards, and the other half of the search happens in another tab: query, scan, judge by eye, copy the promising ones across by hand.

That tab has always bothered us. Everything Vouch knows about the role, the scorecard, the reasoning behind every evaluation, stops mattering the moment you leave the system. Out there you're back to keyword matching and gut feel, and every profile you move across costs you the same three minutes it cost last time.

So we built Lookout. It's a sourcing agent that searches the market beyond your own candidate base, screens what it finds against the same scorecard as your applicants, and delivers people into the review flow you already work in. You keep the judgement. Lookout keeps the legwork.

The sourcing loop today
Search in one tab, judge by eye, copy candidates across by hand. Nothing your system knows about the role helps you out there.
With Lookout
The role's scorecard does the searching and the screening. You review scored candidates next to your applicants and decide who moves forward.

From a quick look to a standing order

Sourcing needs come in different sizes, and Lookout runs in whichever mode the role calls for.

Sometimes it's a glance. You're searching your own base, the shortlist is thinner than you'd like, and the question is whether you're missing someone obvious. Ask the search to look beyond your pool and a handful of screened outsiders join the same ranked list as your own candidates. If they're no better than what you have, you've spent five minutes confirming your base was enough, which is worth knowing too.

Other roles deserve a proper search. Point Lookout at a listing and it works the market, about a billion profiles on the open web, against that scorecard: it finds people, screens them against the same criteria your applicants are measured on, and delivers them scored, with reasoning, next to the people who applied. You review one list and decide who moves forward. And before you commit to anything, Vouch shows you how deep the market is for the role, free, so you know whether you're fishing in a lake or a puddle.

Some needs never close at all. Every agency has profiles that amount to a standing order: the role fills, the demand doesn't. Put Lookout on retainer for that search and it watches the market for you, delivering a weekly drip of screened candidates. Only people who clear the bar count as deliveries, and when the market runs dry it says so, waiting for new entrants instead of recycling old ones.

Whichever mode, everyone you accept becomes part of your base, and the next search starts further ahead than the last one did.

Deleted by default

Lookout doesn't hoard. Profiles you never review and follow up on delete themselves from your workspace within days, and declining someone deletes the profile for good, it won't be delivered to you again. What accumulates in your base is only what you decided belongs there.

Every profile in your base is there because someone on your team chose to keep it.

Contacting the people Lookout finds, and what you tell them, stays your call. It's your name on the message and your reputation in the market, so the system doesn't get in front of you there. Its job is narrower: making sure you're never sitting on profiles you've done nothing with.

On the hardest searches, the candidates who never applied were always part of the honest answer to "where's the hire coming from". Now they show up in the same list as everyone else.

Lookout is rolling out now, workspace by workspace. If you're onboarding, ask us to switch it on. Already on Vouch? Say the word and we'll enable it for your workspace.
