Our stance on AI in recruitment.

We built Vouch because we disagreed with where AI was going in hiring. This is what we think, written down, so we can be held to it.

  1. 01.

    Humans interview humans.

    We don't build AI interviewers. Not as a missing feature, as a values choice. Hiring is a conversation between two people, and judgement on both sides is the point of the conversation. AI helps you prepare for the interview, take notes during it, and remember what was said afterward. It doesn't take your seat.

  2. 02.

    AI as the boring-work-killer, not the human-replacer.

    We use AI to free up time for the part of recruiting that needs a human, the conversations. Drafting, screening, scheduling, transcription, summarisation, language translation. The unglamorous middle of the day. So you spend more time on the human part, not less.

  3. 03.

    Every score has reasoning attached.

    Confidence levels, High / Medium / Low / Not enough info, so you know when to trust and when to dig. Evidence linked to every recommendation. No black-box "8.5/10" claims.

  4. 04.

    Override anything. Every override is logged.

    The model serves you. You are the decision-maker. When you override, your reasoning becomes part of the model for next time. Audit logs are a product surface, not a compliance afterthought.

    Your data never trains foundation models.

    In writing, in the DPA. Your candidates, your decisions, your interviews, yours.

  6. 06.

    GDPR and the EU AI Act are product surfaces.

    Article 14, 17, 21, 22. Article 26 transparent disclosure. Opt-out paths to a human reviewer. Not legal checkboxes, buttons in the product, surfaces in the data model. Built by people who actually read the regulations.

  7. 07.

    We make the recruiter irreplaceable, not redundant.

    Other tools sell "hire 10x faster" and "remove the human in the middle." We sell the opposite. Vouch makes you better at the thing only you can do: meet people, understand them, decide.

We will update this manifesto as the world changes and as we learn. We won't update it because a feature is hard to ship.
